On the brink of Third World War - 2012

26.03.2012

By Nadir Mir

2012 onwards, the world is on the brink of Third World War. All sane and peace loving men would pray and strive that it is averted. For the horoscope of the times point towards a global catastrophe in the making. The guns of August 1914 - 1st World War paled in front of the Panzer Blitzkrieg of September 1939 Second World War. The Third World War during Cold War was averted between NATO and Warsaw Pact Forces. If war breaks out in 2012 onwards, Nukes shall speak and tragically billions may die. If there is war, it will most likely spread to be global plus nuclear, and without method in the madness. This apocalyptic scenario may yet come to pass, unless it is stopped in its tracks.

Opposing Alliances. US globalists (left over Neocons, Military - Industrial complex and their ilk) led NATO still want to dominate the world (despite their disaster in Iraq - Afghanistan). It is not only that the Western World's global dominance stands challenged, but the march of history may be reversed. From the 1500's (seafaring age) scientific discoveries, industrialization, political revolutions, colonialism, and technology ascendency, the world has been controlled by western powers. British Empire, Napoleon's France, Hitler's Germany and more recently USA have all been part of the Western world's bid for global hegemony or control. Now the west is really in decline. USA the great power, land of mass production faces economic stagnation if not full decline. EU faces its own economic predicament. Some Europeans and Americans find the idea of a powerful Germany leading Europe (a natural process) as unacceptable so far. Two World Wars were fought among other reasons to prevent Germany from its rightful place under the sun. An Intra European conflict may be brewing for leadership of Europe. Even as US - NATO alliance conflicts with the dialectic alliance Russia - China.

US Geo strategy has been embroiled in Afghanistan and Iraq, but now seeks to extend the war to Iran - Pakistan. Of course the real war is against Russia - China, the opposing alliance. Washington sees China rising (US trying to contain it from Pacific to Indian Ocean) Russia resurgent, Islamic world defiant (with Arab Spring likely to turn Anti west,) Israel endangered, besides Western economic decline.

American politics for 2012 and the Presidential Elections are upping the war ante (forcing President Obama to strike Iran or support Israel in doing so) or risk losing his reelection. Delhi seeks US Power to denuke, balkanize, deIslamize Pakistan, before US departure from Afghanistan region. Israel is straining on the leash before Iran develops the Nuclear Arsenal. This will change the strategic balance followed by Nuclear Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt etc.

In Afghanistan US seeks to retain a (25000 strong force) SOF/Air Force for denuclearization of Iran - Pakistan. It may seek independence of Baluchistan (with Indian support.) A clash with Pakistan is likely though not inevitable. Delhi wants to use American Power to fight Pakistan (but absurdly believes it can escape the nuclear conflagration). The war with Iran is even nearer 2012. US - NATO may attack Iran followed by Pakistan or both together. An Israeli attack on Iran is even more likely and Indian attack on Pakistan (Cold Start) always remains a possibility.

Russia - China are Allies against US - NATO Geo strategy (Iran and Pakistan are joining this alliance but also the Battle Space.) China is rising economically, Russia is resurgent strategically. After Iraq, Afghanistan, they have seen Libya humbled by NATO power. The US -NATO model   of regime change by sponsoring local militants - Northern Alliance in Afghanistan, in Libya (NATO trained anti Gaddafi Rebels), Syria (Syrian Rebels plus ex Libyan Rebels ) In Iran (non Persian ethnic groups, anti regime Diaspora ) in Pakistan (instead of regime change, keeping pliant puppets in power, or sponsoring   Baluch rebels against Pakistan.) In Russia, President Putin himself has accused the US of instigating opponents of United Russia. In China, using India for fermenting trouble in Xinjiang, Tibet etc. All this is unifying the alliance of Heart land powers Russia -China and critical Rim land state actors Iran - Pakistan into an Anti US - NATO alliance. But events are moving too fast. The Mayan Prophesy of 2012 catastrophic year approaches. US - NATO-India clash with Pakistan or US - NATO- Israel clash with Iran will lead by default or design to multi regional war going Global.

The combined Geopolitical space of Pakistan - Afghanistan -Iran - Iraq (backed by) Russia - China is beyond the US - NATO reach (It has already over reached) Putin's reported warning to his generals,   'Prepare for Armageddon',   must    be taken seriously. Putin is a great leader in the tradition of Russian History. China has already alerted its Navy in the Pacific. North Korea can always do the unpredictable, more so now with the young Kim in power!

US - NATO war against Iran could be catastrophic, but against Pakistan it could be dooms day! US - NATO may have Turkish/Saudi support against Syria but in Pakistan's case both Saudi Arabia - Turkey will support Pakistan. In factWar against Pakistan is very complicated plus suicidal!

Firstly Pakistan is neither threatening nor attacking anybody. It is on high moral ground, despite US - propaganda on militants to nuke insecurity!

Secondly Pakistan will be defended by its Soldiers and People. (190 million despite US - Indian attempts to divide them on different lines).

Thirdly Pakistan will defend itself at any level - sub conventional (asymmetrical), conventional (armed forces) above conventional (nuclear -WMD)

Fourthly There will be no foreign inspired civil war in Pakistan. Pakistanis are united to defend the mother land. Even militants are on the wane or will fight foreign invaders. A few Baluch rebels are being instigated by Delhi - Neocons. (The Baluch should be appeased by Islamabad). All major and minor political parties and people want an end to the Afghan War and peace in Pakistan.

Fifthly Iran,   China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Russia will support Pakistan even for different Geopolitical reasons.

Sixthly A low intensity war in Geopolitical black hole of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq will defeat US - NATO (with war weary public, declining economy at home). A perfect catastrophe! A conventional war, more so on two fronts for Pakistan (US - NATO strike in the west, and Indian Cold Start in the east) will quickly reach nuclear threshold. If Pakistan is being destroyed by enemy fire power plus nukes it will strike back into India and attacking forces / region. Loose nukes from a destroyed Pakistan could explode in Israel - western cities leading to a nuclear retaliation chain cycle. The war going Global, nuclear destructive and radioactive. The Russian view that attack on Pakistan with lead to Thermonuclear War was in this context.

A war the US led NATO cannot win. With hundreds of millions or billions dead only a sick, demented man could term it as a victory. The real winner of the Second World War was USA whose homeland was untouched, and rose to become the sole super power. If there are any victors, it would be Russia - China unless the war involves them directly (something which the globalists hope to achieve - lure Russia - China by attacking Iran).

The Arab Spring - Muslim World would revolt in Anti Americanism as war with Iran - Pakistan and carnage becomes apparent. The western homeland and initiators of attack will be burnt by the flames they help ignite themselves (albeit radioactive fires).

It is near midnight. Geopolitics of Peace is the solution. The US - NATO must relent on Afghanistan, of course no war with Iran and no interference in Baluchistan. The alternative is too horrible to contemplate.

Besides the innocent people of Iran and Pakistan, the cultured people in Europe and good hearted, charity giving, amiable folks in USA are being duped by their Neocons and hawks plus globalists. Shocked when the bastion of capitalism, Wall Street came under siege and fearing rapid collapse, war abroad is their illogical choice. Even in Israel, half the population is against the coming war. Over all the good Jewish people, with their historical sense of survival seek peace and security. Pakistan is not anti Semitic at all, but has deep sympathy with people in Palestine. Still peace in the Middle East would be welcome to all. The American globalists however are adamant to drive the American Titanic into the global iceberg. But this war will be self defeating for all.

A new paradigm shift is needed, rather than beating the drums of war. Moscow under President Putin has a great role to deter the American war hawks, aided by the peace loving Chinese. The Germans and other anti war Europeans, besides the good people of USA must join hands to abort this global conflagration. Russia's key role in global peace, security for Israel, no attack on Iran, establishment of Palestine State, US - NATO exodus from Afghanistan, no interference in Baluchistan, return of Kashmir to Pakistan, US - China amity, all have to be part of Geopolitical peacemaking and war avoidance.

The alternative global nuclear war is too apocalyptic to contemplate.

Picatinny rails of new Kalashnikov make it unique weapon

The new AK-12 Kalashnikov assault rifle, which was unveiled in Russia in the middle of February, meets the requirements of Russian customers. Furthermore, the new rifle has good chances to succeed on the foreign market, the designers of the legendary weapon say. According to them, the new Kalashnikov proves that the maker of the rifle has changed its line of conduct and started listening to complaints. The 12th Kalashnikov, Izhmash officials said, has a number of features that make it different from the previous series of the rifle. The AK-12 may therefore become the basic model for future developments.

"Nowadays, there is no point to produce arms only for military men. We are making a universal platform, and on the base of this platform we will be able to produce a variety of modifications. There will be a whole range of defense and civil products produced on the base of the AK-12. The Ministry for Interior Affairs and Defense Ministry have already evinced interest in the new rifle. We are negotiating the presentation of the product for the administration of the Russian defense department in April," Maksim Kuzyuk, the General Director of Izhmash, said in an interview with the Vedomosti newspaper.

Russia unveils fifth-generation Kalashnikov rifle

Izhmash officials said in the beginning of the year that it could be possible to design up to 20 different models of arms on the base of the AK-12. However, the head of the enterprise said that the engineers were busy with developing the design of future assault rifles.

The new AK-12 has caused quite a commotion in Russia. Defense officials noted earlier that the new rifle did not differ much from the modifications of the AK-47. Therefore, the new rifle will have the same drawbacks which the prototype had. Officials with the Russian Defense Ministry stated that they were not going to order anything from Izhmash in 2012. The ministry described the requirements to small arms in 2010, but received nothing in return.

Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin stated, though, that American specialists had acknowledged the advantages of the Russian rifle. Interior Ministry officials also said that they were satisfied with the new Kalashnikov. However, a number of military experts said that the AK-12 was far behind the fifth-generation category.

Izhmash, the maker of the AK-12, is satisfied with its new product. The main reason for satisfaction is the usage of the Picatinny rail that gives an opportunity to enhance the basic model with auxiliary equipment, such as sights, rangefinders, grenade launchers and so on.

"To a certain extent, Defense Ministry officials are right when they say that Izhmash does not have any new products. We realize that, so our new team set a goal to make a new assault rifle. We studied the advantages of the defense ministry, special services, as well as the range of automatic weapons that we have now. We found optimal solutions for a number of problems during our work. In the new AK, we managed to provide wide opportunities for mounting additional devices and to considerably improve ergonomics," Kuzyuk said.

The above-mentioned Picatinny rails will be used for the production of other weapons. They will allow Izhmash to make the products that meet customers' requirements, the general director of the company pointed out.

He also emphasized that Russian assault rifles still remained the most reliable rifles in the world. However, it did not help the company win a number of large tenders.

Surprising victory of Viktor Bout

06.04.2012

A court of New York brought down a sentence against Russian businessman Viktor Bout. He was sentenced to 25 years in jail and to the fine of $15 million. Officials from Russia's Foreign Ministry said that the sentence was unfounded and biased. Russian diplomats stated that they would do their best to return Bout to his home country.

It is worthy of note that all observers acknowledge that Viktor Bout's sentence came as a surprise: it was the shortest one of all other possible variants. US prosecutors demanded lifetime imprisonment to the Russian businessman.

"Viktor Bout is not satisfied. No one would be satisfied with 25 years of prison term. But the judge could sentence him to life in jail, and she was supposed to do so," Bout's lawyer Albert Dayan said.

Alla Bout, the wife of the businessman, believes that the term, which her husband received, apparently recognized the inconsistency of prosecutors' arguments. "I think that this is our victory. This is the victory of Victor and his defense," she said.

Judge Shira Scheindlin, who presided over the trial, said that Viktor Bout's case was one of the most unusual cases in her legal practice. Prosecutors failed to prove Bout's involvement in any arms sale deals.

Meanwhile, Viktor Bout's lawyers intend to challenge the verdict and submit the appeal to the US Supreme Court. They admit, though, that the courts of higher instances may revise the verdicts from the jury very rarely.

In the event the US Supreme Court does not satisfy the appeal from Bout's lawyers, he could be released in 18 years, taking account of the term that he had already served. Bout was arrested in Thailand in March 2008.

Russian officials have already promised to do their best to help the Russian businessman return to his motherland. Official spokespeople for the Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation said that the sentence was "unfounded and biased."

The US Justice was clearly executing someone's political order, Russian officials stated. The US was seeking a forced confession by "creating intolerable conditions of detention, physical and psychological impact," officials said.

In addition, the Russian foreign ministry said, US authorities also encouraged a media campaign against Bout, which was bound to influence the jury. The United States ignored the arguments from Bout's lawyers and proclaimed him the "Merchant of death" before the sentence.

Viktor Bout's return to Russia would be one of the priorities in the US-Russian relations, Russian officials said.

State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Nikonov believes that the sentence of Viktor Bout would not affect the relations between the two countries. "I don't think Moscow was expecting a different outcome on this. However, there are many questions in that case, especially to the procedure of his arrest and extradition to the United States," the deputy said.

"As economists say, the market has already digested the news. Therefore, Bout's sentence does not give any grounds for a serious diplomatic scandal between the countries," the official said.

"Naturally, Russia will try to extradite Bout, although it is not likely to happen in the near future, not to mention the period of the election campaign in the United States," Vyacheslav Nikonov said.

God wants to wake Americans

up_immagini/ufo001.jpg

Today God can destroy America as America became threat No. 1 for human race existence. But god won't make it. Today the Angelic army will arrange the spacecrafts in the form of a cross and will fly by over all America thus.

Today God addresses to all Americans...

People, you should wake up and look round round themselves. What do you see? It is that America which you love and for which you are ready to lose the life?!!

Wall Street's men say that Americans are rams and morons not capable to choose the president by direct election. The president is chosen by Wall Street's men called by the Electoral College. The Electoral College choose the president from two candidates from two parties. Both parties, republicans and democrats, are parties of Wall Street   and they provide a victory Wall Street in a any case.

Wall Street's men limit the rights of Americans: they read letters, overhear telephone conversations, spy upon private life of Americans, for the benefit of Americans as they speak.

Wall Street's men deprive of Americans of housing, reduce workplaces, do by beggars increasing number of Americans, for the benefit of Americans as they speak.

Wall Street's men think out new military programs and spend huge money for the weapon which becomes unnecessary soon, for the benefit of Americans as they speak.

Wall Street's men search for the nuclear weapon in Iraq, force and kill the Afghani children, deprive of life of thousand Libyans and Syrians, for the benefit of Americans as they speak.

Americans, wake up and decide that there is a benefit for Americans and what should be America. Solve while God stores the patience!!!

BRICS to end dollar rule and USA's supremacy

10.04.2012

The BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) in late March held a summit in New Delhi, which can be considered the beginning of a new global financial and political order. In five years this world will be unrecognizable. The Anglo-Saxon model of governance of the world that flourished in the 1990s is losing its way and is being replaced by the Sino-Russian one. Yuan came close to international recognition, and with the adoption of Brazil and India into the UN Security Council the West will lose its political hegemony.

In 2008, the Wall Street's practice of inflating financial bubbles in alliance with the U.S. Congress led to the collapse of neoliberalism. As Western politicians have not been able to build a coherent model of its resuscitation, the financial crisis is smoothly transforming into the political one. If President Obama advocates for the return of the industry to the country, what kind of subsequent prosperity of the United States are we talking about? The globalized economy has gradually shifted production to China, India and Brazil, where labor is cheaper, and tax and other legislation is much softer. So far there are no obvious reasons as to why Obama will return it to the United States.

This year, the BRICS countries provided 56 percent of world GDP growth, while the share of the richest of seven (G7) is only 9.5. In 2035 the BRICS countries will outrun G7 in terms of the economic potential. The volume of trade within the block grew from $27 billion in 2002 to $250 billion in 2011.

The main interests of the groups include the need to change the present world order, which is based on the global leadership of the U.S. dollar and its leading position as a major world currency. This order was approved by the agreements in Bretton Woods in 1944, at the end of World War II. The U.S. allies in Europe panicked before the inevitable spread of Soviet socialism and were happy to have hidden under the wing of the economically powerful neighbor in the Atlantic.

The economic rationale for cooperation among the BRICS is clear today, but more serious political points of contact are found. Here Russia rules, because it was President Medvedev who most emphatically called for political unity. The unity for the first time was obvious on the Libyan issue.

The countries agreed to abstain on the vote of resolution 1973 of the UN Security Council, and after the military operation were critical of the coalition of NATO. This unity can be described today as "friendship against NATO." Russia, despite a smaller contribution to the global economy (two to three percent of 18), is considered promising for investments due to the large potential of the consumer market and sustainable autonomous growth.

South Africa (39 per cent of the GDP of all sub-Saharan Africa) joined the block on the invitation to make the alliance global and build a "bridge" to Brazil. In addition, the partners of South Africa in the BRICS gained access to the promising African market, which is particularly important for Brazil and China.

At a recent summit in New Delhi two important statements were made. The first one is geo-financial (about creating a joint Development Bank in future) and the second - geopolitical (condemning the war rhetoric and sanctions of the West against Iran and Syria). It should be noted that the leading U.S. media angrily commented on these statements.

The Financial Times, for example, published an article stating that the BRICS countries are asking for more power in the IMF. The paper concludes that if the BRICS are unable to overthrow the American director and replace him with a single candidate, the block will cease to fund the IMF and will focus on the Development Bank mentioned in New Delhi. The American press has stressed that the Development Bank is not to rival the IMF. This is a strange statement, considering that the China Development Bank has a capital of two times greater than the entire capital of the IMF.

The Washington Post noted the BRICS's opposition to Iran and Syria. The newspaper wrote that the block has made a significant geopolitical move, namely, condemned the military threats against Iran and Syria. In fact, the collective claims were filed against the sanctions of the West that are detrimental to trade with these countries. This means that in case of the negative development of events this position may become more serious.

This was stated by the President of Brazil Dilma Russef, who promised that at the next summit of G20 in July the BRICS will make a joint political statement. Perhaps, the criticism will be heavier at the end of the campaign in the U.S. The BRICS are unwilling to press Obama, who is more acceptable for them than any of the Republican "hawks."

The Washington Post pointed out that the countries of the block will never find a common platform for a political union. The newspaper quoted a former Indian Ambassador to the U.S. Lalit Mansinha, who assured that all the countries of the Union have issues with China, and said that before challenging the United States they should think hard. He thinks that Beijing and New Delhi have strong border disputes and Russia is increasing its military spending to counter China. There is also rivalry between Brazil and China in Africa and the expansion of the Chinese goods causes discontent of the Brazilians.

However, first, the NATO countries do not always come to a consensus on all issues, and, second, every country has its own internal benefit. The foreign factor that unites the BRICS countries is the desire to push the US dollar from the leading positions, to oust the U.S. from the Middle East, not to decolonize Africa and to deprive it of the economic and hence political influence in developing countries. This is what the Development Bank will engage in. It assumes the creation of lines of credit in national currency and financing of the developing economies.

The work in this direction has been already started, and both China and Russia in recent years reduced their national reserves in US dollars, preferring to invest in other assets. Everything leads to the fact that in five years the Yuan will be a major world currency, and China - the main engine of the global economy.

The mutual trade turnover of the BRICS over the years will reach $500 billion with growth of 28 percent per year. The BRICS will become a major global player in the political arena, all the leaders of the block are convinced. Dmitry Medvedev said after a meeting in New Delhi that "Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa must transform their alliance into a full-fledged mechanism for international influence and move from discussion of purely economic issues to developing positions on political issues."

Medvedev said that the BRICS countries are not satisfied with the fact that the UN is used to cover the actions to offset unwanted modes, and will advocate for the inclusion of its partners as a permanent member of UN Security Council. He was echoed by Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh, who noted that "the prosperity of the BRICS is associated with the geopolitical situation." While China is the economic leader, Russia is the political leader of the BRICS. This "axis" is a serious concern for the West, and later through the media it will in every way try to minimize the successes of the BRICS, as it feels threatened.

The political benefits of Brazil and India are also obvious. Traditionally on the sidelines of the world politics, these countries finally got the opportunity to realize their ambitions through the BRICS. For the first time they are talked about as a giant, and not only on the regional scale. With regard to South Africa, after its entry into the union for the first time sub-Saharan Africa ceased to be referred to as "miserable and poor."

Romney's Russia Gambit

Gordon M. Hahn | April 11, 2012

Mitt Romney’s recent comments on Russia—in which he characterized Russia as America’s “number-one geopolitical foe”—might make for good politics, but they certainly are bad policy.

Russia is not America’s greatest geopolitical foe; in fact, it has not even decided whether it is a foe at all. Hoping to become part of the West after the Cold War, it has been locked out in part by the EU and NATO approach toward Russia and in part by the difficulties it confronted after the Cold War as a large, formerly communist and economically challenged Central Eurasian power. Yet despite NATO expansion, U.S. missile defense, Jackson-Vanik and much else, Moscow has refused to become a U.S. foe, cooperating with the West on a host of issues from North Korea to the war against jihadism. Most recently, Moscow agreed to the establishment of a NATO base in Ulyanovsk; this is hardly the behavior of a foe, and certainly not the behavior of one’s “number-one geopolitical foe.”

Russia has never acted like an enemy. A real foe would be arming the Taliban against United States and NATO troops in Afghanistan. A real foe would have done the same in Iraq. A real foe would seek to fashion a military alliance and deploy troops near its enemy’s borders, as the USSR and United States did during the Cold War. (The United States continued to do so after the Cold War by expanding NATO to some twelve countries in Eastern Europe, approaching Russia’s borders over Moscow’s objections.)

To be sure, Russia opposes the expansion of the U.S. military presence and political prodemocracy ambitions across the world. But many Americans, including some conservatives, also have similar misgivings about U.S. global policy, especially at a time when the country is spending ourselves into oblivion domestically. Supporting democracy can feel significantly less benign when it is accompanied by the advance to the borders of world history’s most powerful military bloc, replete with nuclear weapons.

Romney tried to explain his assertions on Russia in an op-ed published by Foreign Policy:

Dixit :
Without extracting meaningful concessions from Russia, he abandoned our missile defense sites in Poland. He granted Russia new limits on our nuclear arsenal. He capitulated to Russia's demand that a United Nations resolution on the Iranian nuclear-weapons program exclude crippling sanctions.

Moscow has rewarded these gifts with nothing but obstructionism at the United Nations on a whole raft of issues. It has continued to arm the regime of Syria's vicious dictator and blocked multilateral efforts to stop the ongoing carnage there. Across the board, it has been a thorn in our side on questions vital to America's national security. For three years, the sum total of President Obama's policy toward Russia has been: “We give, Russia gets.”

Let’s consider each of these assertions in turn.

Romney forgets that it was Poland’s obsolete paranoia about Russia and bad geostrategic decision making in Washington and Brussels during the Clinton and Bush administrations that brought NATO to Russia’s western border. Now the Poles, some wittingly some unwittingly, want to repeat this exercise in alienating Moscow by establishing along Russia’s borders a missile-defense system that is aimed against a southern threat and in coming decades could be expanded to counter Russian missiles. Why should the Russians fear a few antimissile systems that are not even capable of challenging Russia’s deterrence? When Moscow acquiesced to reunified Germany’s inclusion in NATO, the Russians were promised that NATO would not expand further east. Twelve new eastern members later, NATO still has a policy of expanding east. What responsible Russian defense-policy maker would now assume that the WMD system will not expand in capability and geography over time?

Romney is right that the administration agreed with Russia on new limits to U.S. missiles. But the new treaty also ensures limits on Russian missiles and prevents an imbalance in mutual deterrence that would be created by the growth of the U.S. nuclear arsenal, the potential of the new missile shield in Eastern Europe and continuity in the number of Russian missiles.

The administration’s compromise on the UN’s Iranian-sanctions resolution was hardly capitulation. As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, Russia has veto power over any resolution, so passage of any measure requires compromise with both Russia and China. If not for NATO expansion, China might now be left alone to threaten such vetoes and thus be more amenable to more stringent sanctions. But in expanding NATO without Russia, the United States lost a truly powerful potential ally in return for European security against a nonexistent threat, the power of the Latvian air force and democratization of countries that were determined to become democracies anyway.

On Syria, Romney is wrong in asserting that Russia has not cooperated. In early February and again recently in Moscow, Russia signed off on two UN resolutions on the Syrian crisis, including Kofi Annan’s peace plan. True, Russia continues to sell arms to Syria (where Moscow also has a naval base), just as the United States continues to sell arms to numerous equally repressive Arab regimes like those of Saudi Arabia and Yemen. In Bahrain (where the United States also has a naval base), the government also brutally put down an uprising with Saudi assistance. Washington does not approve of these regimes or their methods but is often forced to do business with them in the real, albeit cruel, world of international politics.

The list of direct security threats is quite long—Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, Islamism and perhaps China—but it does not include Russia. If the governor’s statements on Russia reflect his actual policy orientation—rather than a temporary political maneuver aimed at shoring up his right-wing credentials—then conservative realists concerned about U.S.-Russia policy should be worried.

Romney’s assertions on Russia might make for good election-year strategy, but they send a very bad signal on the future of U.S policy toward Russia. If Governor Romney receives the nomination, I will vote for him. But on Russia we will have to remain, well, political foes.

Millions of Americans may lose homes for debt

From Vermelho

Millions of Americans are at risk of losing their homes due to mortgage debt. The finding is by a group of experts from the International Monetary Fund, haning prepared an analytical report on the prospects of the global economy.

"About 2.5 million owners of apartments and homes in the U.S. have lost their homes. Other 1,500,000 have systematically gotten behind on payments . So they, too, are in danger of their losing homes," the report says.

This originated with the 2008 financial crisis, affecting one of the biggest financial bubbles created by capitalism in the country in recent years. The Homeless have become a constant presence in the United States.

Thousands of them, four years after the start of the financial meltdown, still live in cars along roads and in parking lots, or even on the streets. According to the Census Bureau, more than 50 million Americans live in absolute poverty, a number that has not ceased to increase.

Russian warships will be continuously deployed for patrol duty off the Syrian coast in the Mediterranean, a high-ranking source in the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

“A decision has been made to deploy Russian warships near the Syrian shores on a permanent basis,” the source said.

The Russian Kashin-class guided-missile destroyer Smetlivy is currently deployed near the Syrian coast.

“Another Black Sea Fleet ship will replace the Smetlivy in May,” the source said, adding that several Russian warships were on their way to the Mediterranean.

Turkey threatens Syria

Syrian forces respect ceasefire, Turkey threatens NATO

Prensa Latina

Syrian forces have put into effect the agreed upon cease-fire, according to the plan of the Special Envoy of the UN, Kofi Annan.   However, Turkey has threatened to use its participation in the NATO alliance to launch a war against Syria. Although tinged with anti-Syria suspicions, Western and Arab media recognize that there were no incidents after the 06:00 local time (04:00 GMT), according to reporta from suspected militants in the provinces of Homs, Hama and Idleb.   In Damascus, the day dawned sunny, but cool and calm.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced yesterday that their forces would put a hold on today's military operations, but said troops would remain on alert to respond to any attack or action on the part of armed terrorist groups, which the UN was well informed of by Annan.

Annan, who now reports to the Security Council on the development of his proposal, did stipulate the need for all parties to comply with the ceasefire in order to provide humanitarian assistance to people in need, and before it can begin to provide dialogue.

Before leaving Tehran last night, where he met with the authorities of that country, Annan stated that "the political process should be led by the Syrians and should respect the aspirations of the Syrian people."

The major emphasis "is that governments in the region cooperate with Syria in order to solve the crisis" and warned that, "Syria's geopolitical position is such that any miscalculation can have unimaginable consequences."

With respect to information that some governments, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United States are financing, arming and equipping the Syrian opposition, the UN envoy said that "any militarization will be disastrous."

"If all parties respect the ceasefire, then we can see improvement in conditions on the ground," said the former UN Secretary General.

However, the Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, fueled the confrontation by threatening to invoke Article V of the NATO Charter for this military alliance to launch its military power against the neighboring country in case of any alleged raid by Syrian troops on the border, reported the Turkish newspaper, Today's Zaman.

Turkish observers of the meeting for this publication indicated that if there were an attack on the demarcation line between Turkey and Syria, members of NATO could take action to assist their ally, if attacked.

Erdogan's threat takes place after an alleged border incident reported in the Turkish province of Hatay, and that Damascus did not say anything.

Although in today's edition, Today's Zaman changed the version of events.   On Tuesday, it recognized, like other media, the inaccuracy of theTurkish version, that the incident stemmed from an armed group attacking a checkpoint on Turkish territory at the border with Syria and killed several soldiers, who found it necessary to answer the fire.

In thr exchange, several of the attackers were wounded and four others also have been identified at this time as two Turks and two Syrian refugees, according to the description of the facts by the Turkish press on Tuesday.

In its now changed version, Today's Zaman on Thursday indicates that Syrian troops killed four persons when they fired at armed "refugee" attackers fleeing their country for Turkey.

"NATO has a responsibility to protect the borders of Turkey," said Erdogan and threatened that Turkey can officially ask for action from this military alliance, with the application of Article V of their Charter, which states an attack on one or some of its members will be considered an aggression against all.

Analysts in Damascus warned that this could be the last resort to be used, that is to say the preparation and assembly of a border provocation by opponents of Syria due to the impossibility of using the UN Security Council and armed groups to reach their objectives.   They now find themselves obliged to comply with the Annan plan

Russian radars go West

17.04.2012

News agencies reported that Russia may deploy its Voronezh missile defense radar in Transdniestria. The move may come as a response to the appearance of the missile defense system elements in Europe. In addition, the radar station may counterbalance NATO's bases in Romania.

Transdniestria has become an object of Russia's special attention again. The region sits close to Romania, where USA already has four army bases. Moldavia is close too: the country has been developing its ties with Romania recently. Dmitry Rogozin of Russia has recently stated that the armament of the Russian peacemaking contingent in the region would be updated in accordance with the plans to rearm the Russian army.

The move may come as an absolutely adequate response since NATO has been getting more and more active in the region during the recent years. Romania and the USA signed an agreement to deploy elements of the US missile defense system in the country. There is a similar agreement between the USA and Turkey.

According to Topwar, ground-based elements of the US missile defense system will appear at Deveselu, a former Romanian air base, by 2015. The elements will include an Aegis radar station, the mission control center and mobile batteries with SM-3 Standard-3 interceptor missiles. As many as 200 US servicemen will be deployed at the base permanently. Their number can be raised to 500 if necessary.

Patriot interceptor missiles will be deployed at airbases in Poland's Morong, which is only 100 kilometers far from Russia's Kaliningrad. The missiles were originally planned to be deployed near Warsaw. As a result, the location for their deployment will be even closer to Russia's borders than was originally planned.

There are objects in Bulgaria, and a US radar in Norway, which is also close to Russia. Experts say that the USA has plans about Ukraine and Georgia.

An early warning radar of the European missile defense system will appear in Turkey. The station will be deployed in the south-east of the country. The radar will thus be able to scan the territory of several thousands of kilometers. At first, they will deploy a mobile radar system in Turkey. A new modification of the sea-based and ground-based SM-3 missile will appear there by 2015. Afterwards, the system will be modernized and enhanced to defend the USA and Europe from long and middle-range missiles.

The West promises not to target its weapons against Russia. Western officials say that they build all this to combat terrorists, who supposedly exist somewhere in either Iran or Afghanistan. However, they strongly refuse to acknowledge that officially, on paper.

What can Russia do against such a background? The only thing that Russia can do is to show adequate reactions. Last year, Russia launched Voronezh-DM radar station in Kaliningrad. The launch of the system signaled Russia's readiness to respond adequately to possible threats coming from the missile defense system of the United States.

It is worthy of note that Igor Smirnov, the President of the Transdniester Moldavian Republic repeatedly stressed out his readiness to support Russia's initiatives in the field of defense. To crown it all, the law about the presence of the troops of the Russian Federation in the Transdniester Moldavian Republic came into force on February 15, 1992. Therefore, Russia does not have to ask any special permission from the republic. President Igor Smirnov confirmed in February 2010 that the law from 1992 was still in effect. If Russia decides to respond to the deployment of the European and American missile defense system, the republic would only be willing to reach out a helping hand to Russia.

Iran will defend itself from aggression

Iran highlights their military capability to defend themselves against any aggression

Prensa Latina

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iran's military leaders said on Tuesday (17th) that the national army has a high combat capability, able to make a tough response and neutralize any external aggression.

Speaking at a ceremony held in Tehran on National Army Day, Ahmadinejad stressed the concept of the defensive forces of the Persian country, but stressed that he would act firmly in the case of threats to the interests and dignity of the people.

He indicated that Iran has achieved advances and success in the goal to achieve higher levels in science and technology, and explained that for such peaceful purposes it is necessary to have "sustained security guaranteed by a brave and well-trained armed forces."

The President, who was accompanied by commanders from different areas of the military, said the Islamic Republic has always been among the most peaceful nations of the world, but stressed that enemies will receive a strong response if they dare to attack.

"If any kind of aggression is launched, they must think that they will be in an endless shame," Ahmadinejad said, recalling that the priority is to "be ready to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran."

During the military parade at the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Iranian head of state explained that the Persian Gulf region is "highly sensitive" and that they have joined "the collective efforts of all countries," without mentioning recent tensions.

The reference was interpreted as a response to statements by leaders of the Arab Gulf countries to Tehran and the criticism of the trip by Ahmadinejad last week to the island of Abu Moussa, one of three whose sovereignty is in dispute between Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

After praising the defensive capabilities and military readiness of ground, naval and air forces, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan also warned of a "devastating reply" or "knock-out" to those who want to "boast and threaten the country."

The commander of the Army Ground Forces pointed out that the Persian nation develops its military to ensure peace, but their military institutions, "will not falter in facing threats and vehemently defending Islamic Iran, exerting their full power."

The Grand Prix, Western hypocrisy and the Gulf States

21.04.2012

Let us be perfectly clear. Qatar has emerged as the main western puppet State in the Gulf, while Bahrain receives favoured treatment despite a despotic crackdown on activists and Saudi Arabia, despite having a deplorable human rights record, is treated as "one of the boys". Could it be because these three Gulf States do what the west tells them to do?

As Gaddafi said, certain Gulf States have allowed themselves to be donkeys, ridden by foreigners. Interesting. Libya's Colonel Gaddafi was set to receive a humanitarian prize from the UNO for his tremendous work in developmental projects in Africa, for his work in women's rights, for his work in religious and ethnic tolerance, for his e-learning and telemedicine programmes which were starting to benefit hundreds of millions of Africans...

Where have Bahrain, Qatar or Saudi Arabia been in terms of human rights? Let us have a look and let us hold the western powers, particularly the FUKUS-Axis (France, UK, US and Israel) to account in their international relations.

Bahrain, the Grand Prix and back-slapping

Let us be honest. The "crackdown" which sparked the backlash by the FUKUS-Axis in Libya pales into insignificance when compared with the ongoing policies of repression and murder ongoing in Bahrain. But then again, the Libya debacle was planned way before the FUKUS-Axis' terrorists were let loose to murder, rape, pillage, slice the breasts off women, loot, torture and so on, without one single word of criticism by their masters, France, the UK and the USA.

Ahead of the Formula One race this weekend, arrests and cases of torture by the authorities have been rife, the use of shotguns against civilians has been widespread. Where is the criticism by the FUKUS-Axis? Illegally detained citizens protesting against the murderous regime in Bahrain are denied access to lawyers and due legal process. Where is the criticism by the FUKUX-Axis?

Pre-dawn raids, discharging of firearms, detention in medieval conditions, torture chambers...never mind. Bahrain is cool. Let us be honest. The FUKUS-Axis believes that if the Bahraini monarchy is shored up, then the same sort of unrest will not spread to the rest of the Gulf and the oil supplies will be safe for them to control.

Compared with the Bahrain authorities, Gaddafi's Jamahiriya Government seemed like fairy godmothers.

Qatar, the bum boy

up_immagini/qataremir.jpg

Qatar is the western bum boy of the Middle East. Qatari terrorists have been found perpetrating shocking acts of violence and depravity in Libya, raping girls, impaling boys with iron stakes, decapitating people, torturing, murdering and looting. What wonderful behaviour from an ex-British colony, what?

Qatar, feted by the FUKUS-Axis, assimilated as easily as its Al-Jazeera network was neutered, is a prime example of spinelessness, subservience and servility. After becoming an example of the exportation of terrorism in Libya, this oil-rich oligarchy implements draconian laws which leave hundreds of thousands of migrant workers open to exploitation by Qatari slave-masters.

Under the kafala system (sponsorship) a migrant worker can be detained or deported for "absconding" even if he or she is fleeing physical abuse, torture or rape. To leave the country, a migrant worker has to get permission from his/her sponsor and if this is not given, he/she is virtually a prisoner in this Middle Eastern hellhole.

Saudi Arabia - cynical and cosmetic changes

FUKUS-Axis leaders and politicians queue up to shake the hands of the sheikhs and the closer they can get to the Al-Saud family, the better. Yet what about Saudi Arabia's deplorable human rights record?

Women cannot stand for office, women cannot show their faces in public, women cannot vote, women can be stoned to death for adultery for having been raped, women can be whipped in public for driving offences, women must have a male chaperone to travel.

Yet the FUKUS-Axis courts these three pariahs, these three insults to the international community, insults to human rights and in the case of Qatar, an exporter of terrorism. And what do they do? They arm terrorists to destroy the Libyan Jamahiriya government and then do the same to gain a foothold in Syria, while turning a blind eye to the Satanic Gulf States which they exploit.

So, where is the invasion? Where are the special forces? Where is the demonology in the media? Nowhere, of course. And what have Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia done for anyone, except themselves?

Russia creates special Arctic troops

23.04.2012

The Russian authorities have announced the formation of two dozen special border guard units in the Arctic. The strengthening of the Arctic borders will be implemented in the next eight years. The Defense Ministry promised to patch all the holes in the Arctic border formed in the post-Soviet years. The military presence will be strengthened by the ground troops.

Meanwhile, as noted by the Ministry of Defense, the unprotected border areas in the Arctic are frequented by foreign submarines belonging to the U.S. and the UK not particularly friendly towards Russia. Now these foreign visitors will be required to meet the eight new nuclear attack submarines of class "Severodvinsk". These submarines are the first to join the Northern Fleet.

By 2015, the first units with multi-purpose armored vehicles MT-TWT will be sent to service the Arctic border. This powerful equipment can cover the distance in deep snow and extremely low temperatures - MT-TWT can operate at 50 degrees below zero Celsius.

Border troops with 15 to 20 people each in the next three years will be created on each of the twenty-arctic outposts under the federal target program "State Border of the Russian Federation" (2012-2020).

The main objective of the strengthening of the Russian border in the Arctic is the increasing interest of various countries in the polar resources. Obviously, every year the oil and gas reserves on land are depleted, which led to the fact that the northern regions that provoked little interest from the civilized world before, have now become a tasty morsel.

In this regard, the countries that own polar areas - the U.S., Canada, Denmark and Norway - have begun to actively strengthen their borders. Russia has joined their ranks and announced a prohibitively high sum that will be invested in the development of the Arctic region - 1.3 trillion rubles.

A good portion of this amount, 503 billion rubles, will be allocated from the federal budget, 724 billion rubles - from regional, 80 billion is expected from Russian businessmen, indicated the Ministry of Regional Development.

The development of oil and gas fields is not the only area in need of financial support. The Northern Sea Route, that under global warming promises to be one of the busiest sea routes between Northern Europe and Asia, needs funding as well. And yet, there is now a desperate need for infrastructure to strengthen navigation systems, icebreaking fleet, etc.

All this was in place in the Arctic territories owned by the USSR. There were polar airfields for the strategic aviation of the superpower and the system of navigation and control system over the course of vessels. However, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the country was swept with amnesia that for years has erased from the memory the importance of the polar lands. To date approximately 2500 kilometers in the middle of the area is not controlled by radar systems.

Some sagacious neighbors of Russia, like China, were quick to take advantage of the situation. As reported by the Defense Ministry, the Chinese military icebreakers began to appear with expeditions to the Arctic, which indicates their genuine interest in the polar areas.

Having noticed that flocks of vultures began circling over the Arctic, the Arctic states decided to strengthen their positions. Canadian Ministry of Defense published a report "The Arctic Council: its place in the future management of the Arctic," talking about the upcoming construction of the regional military air base, designed for the landing of military aircraft and intended to become a Canadian outpost in the Arctic. The country also increased the Canada Arctic marine group that will have eight patrol ships. In addition, the number of rangers will be increased in the Canadian polar areas.

In March, a statement on the strengthening of the Arctic presence was made by the United States that stressed that the states have a great interest in the resources of the region. Meanwhile, the proportion of Arctic oil reserves that belong to the United States is only 19.8 percent, which seems very small compared to 71 percent of the Arctic reserves of "black gold" in the Russian Arctic territories. But the U.S. is extremely fearful of the rapid melting of ice in the Arctic, and is in a hurry to improve the experience of navigation in polar conditions, first of all the icebreaker fleet.

There is movement in the Arctic lands of Denmark that announced the intention to build up its military presence in northern Greenland. Danish authorities are seriously considering placement of the Arctic military response and command post.

In this regard, Denmark has planned a program of military appropriations for 2010-2014, which includes consideration of the need to use military aircraft for surveillance and sovereignty in Greenland and in its neighboring areas. The country is so worked up in the desire to preserve the Arctic territory, rich in large reserves of minerals, that it even created a new public position - "the ambassador for the Arctic."

This positon was occupied by the former Head of Public Diplomacy Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Kvals Holm, whose main task now is to promote national interests of Denmark in the region. However, Denmark has prepared a "red carpet" for the representatives of the PRC on the way to the Arctic, and is actively advocating for the provision of a place in "the Arctic Council" to Beijing.   In return, Danish authorities were promised Chinese investment.

Norway has also strengthened its position in the Arctic, but focused on the use of the so-called "soft power", which is to study the Arctic. The territorial division is rather blurry, so to obtain the polar lands it is sufficient to provide a constructive proof that a particular site is owned by a particular country.

Against the background of the enhanced Arctic states the rumor about the "Arctic Cold War" has emerged. They say the war is to break out due to a conflict of interests in terms of the resources hidden under a thick layer of ice.

Experts estimate that the Arctic ice shelf hides five million tons of oil, seven and a half billion tons of gas and gas condensate, as well as large stocks of diamonds and other minerals. Meanwhile, in the 1970s, the area of ice in the Arctic was eight million square kilometers, and by 2007 the area reduced by nearly half, reaching 4.3 million.

The process of melting continues, expanding the way of navigation in the Arctic Ocean. In this regard, representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry dismiss frightening predictions of destabilized relations between the Arctic states, calling the excitement around the glaciers a logical process resulting from the opening of new shipping options. However, the strengthening of military positions in the Russian Arctic seems very timely.

The evil U.S. policy against Iran

23.04.2012

By Anna Malm / Stockholm Direct *

U.S. attack groups may be carrying more than 430 Tomahawk type missles near Iran, many of these missiles were seen during the war against Iraq.

The United States has many explanations for the movements of rheir fleet, consisting of aircraft carriers, submarines, jets, drones and everything else in the vicinity of Iran and the Persian Gulf. However, this seemed worthy of deeper consideration because they are just miles away.   I smelled more fraud, lies and machinations of the diabolical than anything else.

Before reading about the abominable Tomahawks in the Persian Gulf, I had read an article by Stephen Gowans who impressed me by his frankness and insight. [1]

The economic policy of Iran has some restrictions regarding foreign investment in areas of strategic interest to the country. Relying on these areas is the state's ability to maintain a regulative supervision on key industries in the country, in transnational industries or other private industries, working in the regime of maximizing profits for the company itself.

Stephen Gowans points out that this is a cardinal sin for the financial industry elites of the United States that depend on free access to sources of opportunity to maximize their profits and economic profits on a truly global scale. Considering that the oil industry is of central importance in Iran, we then have what Stephen Gowans argues the following:

Since bankers, investors, directors, presidents of large corporations and lawyers occupy key positions in American government, and since they fund, as well as contribute to the formulation of policy that will favor those same elites, one can quietly conclude that the main point of the program will be to ensure the profits of the above, as well as collaborating with them.

Here the list is long because it includes the entire branch of the magnificent spider web that makes up the U.S. structural system, hence we must not forget to mention in this context, the military-industrial complex served by or intertwined with the White House and Pentagon. Unfortunately it is true. Iraq and Libya show the concrete consequences of the framework presented here.

Stephen Gowans also points to the fact that this symbiosis, or this mutual dependence between the financial-industrial complex, as well as its military branch, includes other negative consequences.

Then he highlights their requirements including working conditions for poor pay, child labor, no subsidies for basic consumer goods, a shift of distribution of goods favoring elites, as well as the requirement of a privatization of health services and many, many other things to always ensure that the worker remains in the worst conditions.

They are imposing sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran so that their people will be poor, as well as have a short and uncertain life as is the case for workers in the west.

The financial interests involved have no intention of allowing the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue to be a viable social and economic alternative, due to the degenerate machinations of Washington in the Middle East. They have no intention of allowing an economic system based on an Islamic sense of justice, and will ultimately impose their unreasonable profits and unjust strangulation throughout the region if they have their way.

As if trying to bend a population of 70 million people through cruel sanctions were not enough, they are now encircling the country with an arsenal that is best described as apocalyptic.

In the arsenal are aircraft carriers, nuclear submarines, attack jets and, in addition to all of that, we still have the infernal 340 Tomahaks previously mentioned.
