Damascus, SANA - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Walid al-Moallem affirmed Syria's keenness on the security and stability of its citizens.

Al-Moallem's remark came during a phone call made by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon today afternoon during which the conversation touched upon the situation in the city of al-Qseir.

The Minister stressed that what the Syrian Arab Army is doing in al-Qseir is to help the citizens get rid of the armed terrorist groups and restore security and stability to the city and its countryside.

Al-Moallem expressed his wonder at "the rising voices on the situation in al-Qseir, whereas we didn't hear this worry when the terrorists seized the city and its countryside and committed the ugliest crimes against the citizens for over 18 months."

The Minister stressed that the Syrian authorities will allow the Red Cross, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, to enter al-Qseir area immediately after the military operations end there.

Damascus, SANA - - Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad affirmed that the government is ready to speedup procedures of extraditing the Tunisian detainees whose hands are not stained with the Syrians' blood and who have entered the Syrian territories illegally to fight against the Syrian people.

"The Syrian government will extradite the Tunisians in case they adhere to the legal commitment to follow up prosecution nationally and internationally as well as lodging a complaint to the UN Security Council and the international organizations against those who contributed to instigating them to extremism, funding, recruiting, offering safe haven or not controlling borers and others of the violations of UN Security Council No. 1373 for 2001," Mikdad said at a press conference at Sheraton with a Tunisian delegation of civil society and families of the detainees.

He added that the government cooperates with the Syrian civil society and international organizations to tackle the file of the Tunisian fighters who want to give up and retreat from the battlefield through ensuring clear mechanism to guarantee fair and transparent procedures according to the international laws.

"The Syrian government has worked and will work to find solutions to problems of the Tunisian citizens living in Syria whether in relation to legal residence, education or other, particularly after the decision of the Tunisian authorities to sever diplomatic relations with Syria," Mikdad said.

He added that carrying out all those points is related to the announcement of the Tunisian authorities its readiness to cooperate properly in providing the reasons of its success, affirming that Syria will implement what has been mentioned.

Mikdad thanked the representatives of the civil society in Syria and Tunisia for the efforts they have exerted during the latest days, saying "we wish the Tunisians to live in peace and security away from terrorism and Takfiri mentality."

HOMS, SANA - People of al-Qseir city and neighboring villages and al-Baath university students flocked to al-Qseir main Square in a joyful scene to celebrate the return of security and stability after the Syrian army eliminated the armed terrorist groups in the area.

The participants expressed trust in the ability of the Syrian Arab army to confront terrorism and protect the homeland, and foil conspiracy that aim to weaken Syria's role in the region.

He added that the maintenance workshops commenced work in al-Bowaida al-Sharqieh town in al-Qseir countryside.

The governor hailed the participation of a delegation from Lebanese villages in the celebration, indicating that it highlights the Arab unity and the Arab national security, and underscores the symbolism of al-Qseir that saw terrorists vanquished at the hands of the Syrian army.

Official Damascus and the Syrian army is interested in the use of chemical weapons is smaller than all the others, while the victory is in their hands already. Arab Sheiks-Democrats, terrorists, Al Qaeda and their supporters in France and the U.S. are the true organizers of the gas provocation, because they are not ready to admit defeat in the final of their infamous war against the Syrian people.

Laurent Fabius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, has to cool the anti-Russian rhetoric and refuse threats of use of military force or false gas attack in the suburb of Damascus will turn back in the nuclear winter in France, finally.

Syria: The predictable and false "chemical" attack

21.08.2013

To date, the only use of chemical weapons in Syria has been by the Syrian so-called opposition, you know, the same people (?) who indulge in cannibalism, who are rapists, torturers, thieves and terrorists, who recently sliced the heads off Kurdish children ... and why were the videos uploaded from outside Syria the day before the "attack" happened?

And just as the UN inspectors arrive... there is a so-called "chemical" incident, a false flag one of course, again, but once again, not a very intelligent ploy by the Syrian "opposition". If one is going to set up a false flag chemical weapons attack, one has to make sure it is deployed in an area where there is a massive advantage in using such weaponry, namely in an area where there is massive advantage to be gained in an active theatre of war.

So, in an area where there has been fighting until recently but where the Syrian Arab Army (Government) has been making steady progress and where the terrorist opposition forces have been getting hammered, it does not make sense for the Government forces to use nerve gas, and it makes no sense at all to use it against large numbers of civilians, including children, who appear to comprise the majority of the victims.

Therefore this morning's alleged chemical weapons attack in Ghouta, Eastern Damascus countryside, would not provide any advantage whatsoever to the Government forces, especially with the UN mission arriving in the country but it would provide a huge advantage for the "opposition" especially if the western media steamroller swings into action riding the crest of a drum-beating wave driven by politicians of the caliber of Obama, Cameron, Hague and no doubt their French poodles to justify a US intervention from Jordan.

We have seen the chemical weapons story before, only for the west to back down and refuse to investigate every time the Syrian "opposition" makes allegations the Government has used chemical weapons, when it then becomes obvious that the Government would not, did not, has not, does not and never will deploy chemical weaponry against its own people. Terrorists do, real soldiers do not.

Quite apart from all this, why were the "videos" providing "evidence" of this alleged chemical weapons attack posted on August 20, when the attack was supposed to be made in the early hours of August 21? They were certainly not uploaded from Syria.

And let us observe this from another angle: does the presence of the UN team in Syria to investigate use of weapons of mass destruction favour the Government? Yes, because it will discover the Government has not used any. Will it favour the terrorists? No, because they have used chemical weapons before and everyone knows so, that is why the west went silent about previous attacks after accusing the Government. After all, in May the UN investigation team leader, Carla del Ponte, stated there was evidence the "opposition" had used chemical agents, including Sarin gas. This came after two Syrian "opposition" leaders were caught on an audio recording of a phone conversation discussing attacks with chemical weapons and let us not forget the "opposition" laboratories last year filmed gassing rabbits with nerve agents. In this column I predicted today's event at the time.

The Syrian authorities strongly deny today's claim as being completely untrue. For the Government, these wild and absurd allegations denote the hysteria and demoralized state the "opposition" is in, as it is pressed back on all fronts.

Let us go further: with the US troops massing in Jordan, is this the event Washington needs to justify an intervention? We have seen it all before... and who would be surprised at anything Washington pulls out of the hat? After all the spectre of an August attack in Syria by Washington has been circulating for months.

And let us be intelligent here: if the attack was supposed to be launched in Syria on August 21, then why do the videos supposedly covering the supposed event show the date August 20? Because they were uploaded from London... or Washington?

General Command of the Army: terrorists' possession of chemical materials is clear-cut evidence of their use of chemical weapons

Aug 25, 2013

Damascus, SANA - The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces said in a statement that the armed forces seized Saturday morning in Jobar suburb in Damascus countryside a warehouse containing raw materials for making chemical weapons and protective masks and large amounts of medicines used for treating inhalation of poisonous chemical materials.

The statement stressed that the possession of such chemical materials by the armed terrorist groups is clear-cut evidence of their use of chemical weapons against the Syrian people and the armed forces, and it confirms the involvement of foreign sides in providing terrorists with all requirements for using chemical weapons.

"Using chemical weapons against our people and army by the armed terrorist groups proves the state of bankruptcy these groups have been suffering because of the severe blows they receive by our brave soldiers," the statement added.

EXCLUSIVE: Syrians In Ghouta Claim Saudi-Supplied Rebels Behind Chemical Attack

Rebels and local residents in Ghouta accuse Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan of providing chemical weapons to an al-Qaida linked rebel group.

By Dale Gavlak and Yahya Ababneh |   August 29, 2013

This article is a collaboration between Dale Gavlak reporting for Mint Press News (also of the Associated Press) and Yahya Ababneh.

Ghouta, Syria As the machinery for a U.S.-led military intervention in Syria gathers pace following last weeks chemical weapons attack, the U.S. and its allies may be targeting the wrong culprit.

Interviews with people in Damascus and Ghouta, a suburb of the Syrian capital, where the humanitarian agency Doctors Without Borders said at least 355 people had died last week from what it believed to be a neurotoxic agent, appear to indicate as much.

The U.S., Britain, and France as well as the Arab League have accused the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for carrying out the chemical weapons attack, which mainly targeted civilians. U.S. warships are stationed in the Mediterranean Sea to launch military strikes against Syria in punishment for carrying out a massive chemical weapons attack. The U.S. and others are not interested in examining any contrary evidence, with U.S Secretary of State John Kerry saying Monday that Assads guilt was a judgment already clear to the world.

However, from numerous interviews with doctors, Ghouta residents, rebel fighters and their families, a different picture emerges. Many believe that certain rebels received chemical weapons via the Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and were responsible for carrying out the dealing gas attack.

My son came to me two weeks ago asking what I thought the weapons were that he had been asked to carry, said Abu Abdel-Moneim, the father of a rebel fighting to unseat Assad, who lives in Ghouta.

Abdel-Moneim said his son and 12 other rebels were killed inside of a tunnel used to store weapons provided by a Saudi militant, known as Abu Ayesha, who was leading a fighting battalion. The father described the weapons as having a tube-like structure while others were like a huge gas bottle.

Ghouta townspeople said the rebels were using mosques and private houses to sleep while storing their weapons in tunnels.

Abdel-Moneim said his son and the others died during the chemical weapons attack. That same day, the militant group Jabhat al-Nusra, which is linked to al-Qaida, announced that it would similarly attack civilians in the Assad regimes heartland of Latakia on Syrias western coast, in purported retaliation.

They didnt tell us what these arms were or how to use them, complained a female fighter named K. We didnt know they were chemical weapons. We never imagined they were chemical weapons.

When Saudi Prince Bandar gives such weapons to people, he must give them to those who know how to handle and use them, she warned. She, like other Syrians, do not want to use their full names for fear of retribution.

A well-known rebel leader in Ghouta named J agreed. Jabhat al-Nusra militants do not cooperate with other rebels, except with fighting on the ground. They do not share secret information. They merely used some ordinary rebels to carry and operate this material, he said.

We were very curious about these arms. And unfortunately, some of the fighters handled the weapons improperly and set off the explosions, J said.

Doctors who treated the chemical weapons attack victims cautioned interviewers to be careful about asking questions regarding who, exactly, was responsible for the deadly assault.

The humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders added that health workers aiding 3,600 patients also reported experiencing similar symptoms, including frothing at the mouth, respiratory distress, convulsions and blurry vision. The group has not been able to independently verify the information.

More than a dozen rebels interviewed reported that their salaries came from the Saudi government.

Saudi involvement

In a recent article for Business Insider, reporter Geoffrey Ingersoll highlighted Saudi Prince Bandars role in the two-and-a-half year Syrian civil war. Many observers believe Bandar, with his close ties to Washington, has been at the very heart of the push for war by the U.S. against Assad.

Ingersoll referred to an article in the U.K.s Daily Telegraph about secret Russian-Saudi talks alleging that Bandar offered Russian President Vladimir Putin cheap oil in exchange for dumping Assad.

Prince Bandar pledged to safeguard Russias naval base in Syria if the Assad regime is toppled, but he also hinted at Chechen terrorist attacks on Russias Winter Olympics in Sochi if there is no accord, Ingersoll wrote.

I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics next year. The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us, Bandar allegedly told the Russians.

Along with Saudi officials, the U.S. allegedly gave the Saudi intelligence chief the thumbs up to conduct these talks with Russia, which comes as no surprise, Ingersoll wrote.

Bandar is American-educated, both military and collegiate, served as a highly influential Saudi Ambassador to the U.S., and the CIA totally loves this guy, he added.

According to U.K.s Independent newspaper, it was Prince Bandars intelligence agency that first brought allegations of the use of sarin gas by the regime to the attention of Western allies in February.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that the CIA realized Saudi Arabia was serious about toppling Assad when the Saudi king named Prince Bandar to lead the effort.

They believed that Prince Bandar, a veteran of the diplomatic intrigues of Washington and the Arab world, could deliver what the CIA couldnt: planeloads of money and arms, and, as one U.S. diplomat put it, wasta, Arabic for under-the-table clout, it said.

Bandar has been advancing Saudi Arabias top foreign policy goal, WSJ reported, of defeating Assad and his Iranian and Hezbollah allies.

To that aim, Bandar worked Washington to back a program to arm and train rebels out of a planned military base in Jordan.

The newspaper reports that he met with the uneasy Jordanians about such a base:

His meetings in Amman with Jordans King Abdullah sometimes ran to eight hours in a single sitting. The king would joke: Oh, Bandars coming again? Lets clear two days for the meeting, said a person familiar with the meetings.

Jordans financial dependence on Saudi Arabia may have given the Saudis strong leverage. An operations center in Jordan started going online in the summer of 2012, including an airstrip and warehouses for arms. Saudi-procured AK-47s and ammunition arrived, WSJ reported, citing Arab officials.

Although Saudi Arabia has officially maintained that it supported more moderate rebels, the newspaper reported that funds and arms were being funneled to radicals on the side, simply to counter the influence of rival Islamists backed by Qatar.

But rebels interviewed said Prince Bandar is referred to as al-Habib or the lover by al-Qaida militants fighting in Syria.

Peter Oborne, writing in the Daily Telegraph on Thursday, has issued a word of caution about Washingtons rush to punish the Assad regime with so-called limited strikes not meant to overthrow the Syrian leader but diminish his capacity to use chemical weapons:

Consider this: the only beneficiaries from the atrocity were the rebels, previously losing the war, who now have Britain and America ready to intervene on their side. While there seems to be little doubt that chemical weapons were used, there is doubt about who deployed them.

It is important to remember that Assad has been accused of using poison gas against civilians before. But on that occasion, Carla del Ponte, a U.N. commissioner on Syria, concluded that the rebels, not Assad, were probably responsible.

Putin: Chemical Weapons Claims Utter Nonsense, A Provocation

Christof Lehmann (nsnbc) ,- In one of the strongest statement by Russian Top-Diplomats in response to Western allegations and claims of evidence of chemical weapons use by the Syrian government, Russia's President, Vladimir Putin has denounced those allegations and claims as utter nonsense and a provocation.

Russia's President, Vladimir Putin, has challenged the United States to present its supposed evidence to the UN Security Council, calling the idea that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons against its own people utter nonsense and the Western tactics a provocation.

Putin fileThe U.S. administration is justifying its plans to launch a unilateral attack on Syria, bypassing the United Nations Security Council on the premise that the government of Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian Arab Army have used chemical agents.

The Russian President stressed, that Russia finds the accusations unacceptable and the idea of launching military strikes even more so. Putin stressed, that any attack which would be carried out without the approval of the UN Security Council would constitute a violation of international law.

A Security Council resolution requires the concurrent vote of all permanent members of the council. However, since 1948 it has become commonly accepted practice, that permanent members of the Security Council could enforce a Security Council resolution, also if it did not receive the concurrent vote of all permanent Security Council members, under the condition that those implementing or enforcing it would adhere to the letter, to the provisions of the resolution, and that only a veto would barr for implementing a resolution.

The Russian and Chinese endorsement of this gentleman's agreement at the Security Council came to an abrupt end in 2011, when the United States and its allied grossly overstepped the provisions of UNSC Resolution 1973 (2011) on Libya, abusing the fact that Russia and China abstained from voting, rather than casting a veto against the resolution, to wage a war of aggression, leading to the ousting of the Libyan government by NATO led mercenaries, including the Libyan al-Qaeda franchise, Libyan Islamic Fighting Group. Moreover, the illegal abuse of the resolution led to the murder of Libya's head of state, Muammar Ghadafi, and cast the country into a still ongoing civil war.

Russia's President, Vladimir Putin told U.S. President, Barak Obama, that Obama should consider the political fallout from a military strike and to take into consideration the suffering of innocent civilians.

Military Strikes an Outside Contingency Measure in Response to Syrian Governments Success in Combating Terrorism. President Putin stressed his certainty, that the strategy for a military intervention in Syria is a contingency measure from the outside, and a direct response to the Syrian government's recent combat success, which forced the rebels away from long-held positions.

The Russian President, speaking to the ITAR-TASS news agency, put his thoughts about the Western military plans in plain language, saying:

Syrian government forces are advancing, while the so-called rebels are in a tight situation, as they are not nearly as equipped as the government. . . . What those who sponsor the so-called rebels need to achieve is simple they need to help them in their fight . . . and if this happens, it would be a tragic development.

The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Alexander Lukashevich, stressed that:

Any unilateral use of force without authorization of the U.N. Security Council, no matter how limited it is, will be a clear violation of international law, it will undermine prospects for a political and diplomatic resolution of the conflict in Syria and will lead to a new round of confrontation and new casualties. Lukashevich also stressed the absence of any proof of chemical weapons use.

The purported proof of chemical weapons use repeatedly reiterated by US officials, including Secretary of State, John Kerry, is outlined in a U.S. document, titled U.S. Government Assessment on the Syrian Government's Use of Chemical Weapons on August 21, 2013. The document both begins and concludes with statements of high confidence, but fails to provide any tangible evidence. A detailed analysis of the document has been published by Eric Draitser, who concludes:

The U.S. Government Assessment of the Syrian Government's Use of Chemical Weapons on August 21, 2013 is a poorly constructed attempt to justify the politically, militarily, and morally unjustifiable war against Syria.   It relies on lies, distortions, and obvious propaganda to create the myth that Assad is the devil incarnate and that the US, with its clear moral high-ground, must take it upon itself to once again wage war for the sake of peace.   Nothing could be more dishonest. Nothing could be more disgusting. Nothing could be more American.

U.S. President, Barak Obama, on the other hand, said on Friday, that he has not yet decided what action, if any, will be taken by the United States, while Secretary of State, John Kerry on Friday reiterated claims that:

President Assad´s regime used chemical gas last week to kill more than 1.000 Syrian civilians.

Entirely omitted in the Western Mainstream Media as well as Western and Gulf-Arab governments is the fact that details about the plans to launch a military campaign against Syria, based on large scale chemical weapons use have been known and published since June 2013.

Entirely omitted in Western mainstream media and governments narratives is also the result of the report of a Russian expert team into the use of chemical weapons in Khan al-Assal. The result points, according to Russian official statements, to foreign-backed insurgents and not the Syrian government. Moreover, it is highly probable that the massacre in Khan al-Assal, following the use of chemical weapons by insurgents, was committed with the explicit purpose to murder eyewitnesses.

Seen in the light of the available evidence, pointing towards the premeditated use of chemical weapons by foreign-backed insurgents and the lack of substance in the US report on which it bases its claims of legitimacy to launch an illegal war, strong words from the side of the Russian President, such as utter nonsense and a provocation are not only understandable but as close to the truth as one can come.

Putin presses US Congress over Syria, says Kerry lied

Wednesday, Sep. 4, 2013

up_immagini/putingeneral2.jpg

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday the U.S. Congress had no right to approve the use of force against Syria without a decision from the U.N. Security Council, and that doing so would be an "act of aggression".

He said "anything that is outside the U.N. Security Council is aggression, except self-defense. Now what Congress and the U.S. Senate are doing in essence is legitimizing aggression. This is inadmissible in principle."

In remarks that could raise tension further before he hosts President Barack Obama and other G20 leaders on Thursday, Putin also said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry lied to Congress about the militant group al Qaeda's role in the Syrian conflict.

"They lie beautifully, of course. I saw debates in Congress. A congressman asks Mr Kerry: 'Is al Qaeda there?' He says: 'No, I am telling you responsibly that it is not'," Putin said at a meeting of his human rights council in the Kremlin.

"Al Qaeda units are the main military echelon, and they know this," he said, referring to the United States. "It was unpleasant and surprising for me - we talk to them, we proceed from the assumption that they are decent people. But he is lying and knows he is lying. It's sad."

Putin did not give any more details.

In an exchange with a senator, Kerry was asked whether it was "basically true" that the Syrian opposition had "become more infiltrated by al Qaeda over time. Kerry said: "No, that is actually basically not true. It's basically incorrect".

In another sign of tension, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying that since August 31, the U.S. State Department had repeatedly asked for a telephone call between Kerry and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov but Kerry had been unavailable and declined to set a time for the call.

Does Obama believe in his own theory about Assad?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lLP-F9XbNg

USA keeps saying that the army of Bashar Assad used chemical weapons against civilians, and that's the main reason for USA to bomb it. However, neither Obama nor Kerry presented evidence of it, and the most prominent experts are sure: they are wrong and they know it.

Mikhail Leontyev, journalist, political commentator and anchorman: Assad had the logical alibi. No one, not a single person in Russian government, as well as in American government, believes that Assad used it. Do you really think that Americans are not aware, that Assad never used the chemical weapon, never even intended to use it? That would have been the most useless step. Only idiots and fanatics believe in USA version about Syria. As for Obama -- I think, that he is actually quite a clever man, and in his mind he doesn't even consider the version he speaks out. Moreover -- he doesn't really care about it. His problem is to feed some vultures that prevent him from carrying out any policy. This is the small price for him: to make a formal punitive strike, which wouldn't cause a serious damage -- at least that's how he plans.

Al-Qaida-linked rebels stage hit-and-run attacks in ancient Syrian Christian village

By   Associated Press,    Published: September 5

DAMASCUS, Syria The sound of artillery reverberated Thursday through a predominantly Christian village north of Damascus as government troops and al-Qaida-linked rebels battled for control of the mountainside sanctuary.

The hit-and-run attacks on the ancient village of Maaloula, one of the few places in the world where residents still speak Aramaic, highlighted fears among Syrias religious minorities about the growing role of extremists among those fighting in the civil war to topple President Bashar Assads regime.

The fighting came as President Barack Obamas administration pressed the U.S. Congress for its authorization of a military strike against the Assad regime, while the president arrived at a G-20 summit in Russia expected to be overshadowed by Syria.

The fighting in Maaloula, a scenic village of about 3,300 perched high in the mountains, began early Wednesday when militants from Jabhat al-Nusra stormed in after a suicide bomber struck an army checkpoint guarding the entrance.

The group listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department is one of the most effective fighting forces among Syrian rebels. The suicide attack triggered battles that terrorized residents in the village, famous for two of the oldest surviving monasteries in Syria Mar Sarkis and Mar Takla.

Online video showed rebels in the streets, some firing truck-mounted heavy machine guns in the direction of the surrounding mountains. The video appeared authentic and matched Associated Press reporting on the fighting.

Residents said Wednesday the rebels took over the mountaintop Safir hotel and were firing in the direction of the community below.

Rami Abdul-Rahman, director of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that despite a heavy army presence in the village, the rebels staged hit-and-run attacks, at one point patrolling the streets on foot and in vehicles, and briefly surrounding a church and a mosque before leaving early Thursday.

Heavy fighting around the village, which is on a UNESCO list of tentative world heritage sites continued throughout the day, and heavy artillery echoed in the village.

The stones are shaking, said a nun at the Mar Takla monastery. We dont know if the rebels have left or not, nobody dares go out.

Frightened residents expected the militants to return to the Safir hotel, she said, adding: Its their home now.

She spoke with the AP on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals.

Al-Mayadeen TV, a Lebanese station who has an embed with the Syrian army, broadcast live images from the area Thursday evening that showed smoke rising from behind the hotel, suggesting the military was shelling it.

The nun said about 100 people from the village took refuge in the St. Takla convent that she helps run. The 27 orphans who live there had been taken to nearby caves overnight so they were not scared, she said.

Maaloula, about 40 miles (60 kilometers) northeast of Damascus, had been firmly under the regimes grip, despite sitting in the middle of rebel-held territory east and north of the capital. The village was a major tourist attraction before the civil war. Some of its residents still speak a version of Aramaic, the language of biblical times believed to have been used by Jesus.

Heres how to end the war in Syria: put leverage on Turkey to stop all jihadists, arms, and ammo from going into Syria over their borders. Tell Jordan to stop (they were doing it on our orders anyway). The war would be over in a few weeks no bombing. The Syrian people would have the leader they support overwhelmingly and they could hold the elections they had already planned for 2014. The Syrian conflict is, and always has been, an Islamist takeover of secular Syria armed and funded by Qatar and Saudi Arabia and supported by the US. The Bush administration met with the Muslim Brotherhood in 2007 (per Wall St. Journal Jay Solomon) for the express purpose of regime change since Assad refused to accept our dictates for friendship back in 2003. Those dictates included ending all ties with Iran, helping us in Iraq (Assad said it would end in a quagmire with Iraq and the region worse off); being a part of the missile defense shield, and basically dropping his negotiations for the Golan. He said no. All of sudden he went from being a progressive leader the US was excited about to being part of the axis of evil. What a joke. Obama is even worse. The Muslim Brotherhood (who is the driving force behind the opposition) has his ear. They ply him with false promises and lies. They are thugs driven by one objective: to put as much of the world under submission to their twisted form of sharia and Islam as possible, using whatever means necessary. This is what Egypt found out and why 30 million Egyptians booted them out.

Intl experts have strong proof images of chemical victims fabricated Moscow

Published time: September 10, 2013 08:09

Footage and photos of the alleged chemical attack in Syria, which the US cites as the reason for a planned military intervention, had been fabricated in advance, speakers told a UN human rights conference in Geneva.

Members of the conference were presented accounts of international experts, Syrian public figures and Russian news reporters covering the Syrian conflict, which back Russias opposition to the US plans, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The speakers argued that the suspected sarin gas attack near Damascus on August 21 was likely a provocation of the rebel forces and that a military action against the President Bashar Assad government will likely result in civilian casualties and a humanitarian catastrophe affecting the entire region.

The possible attack by US military without a UN Security Council mandate would violate international law and should be prevented by the United Nations, some of the speakers said.

Evidence for the Russian case, including numerous eyewitness reports and results of investigations of the chemical weapon incident by activists, was handed over to a UN commission of experts probing the Syrian crisis, the ministry said.

The Obama administration voiced an intention to use military force in Syria after reports of mass deaths in Eastern Houla, a neighborhood of Damascus, which killed more than 1,400 people according to US estimates. Washington says the deaths was due to a chemical weapons attack of the Syrian army on rebel forces and says it plans to use force to prevent such incidents in the future.

Russia is convinced that the chemical incident was a provocation by rebel forces, which staged a false flag attack to drag the US into the conflict and capitalize on the damage that the Syrian army is likely to sustain in the American intervention.

An increasing number of reports is backing Russias position, with local witnesses, US and British former intelligence professionals and Europeans recently released from rebel captivity all speaking for a provocation scenario.

In the latest development this week a possible way to de-escalate the tension was voiced, which would involve the Assad government handing over control of his chemical arsenal to the international community. The plan was backed by Russia and China, while Syria said it will review it.

Mixed signals over the plan came from the US. The US State Department initially said Secretary of State John Kerry, who initially voiced a possible disarmament, saw it as a rhetorical move and didnt expect Bashar Assad to actually disarm. But later President Obama said such a move from Damascus would make him put the military action plan on pause.

Meanwhile RT learned that Syrian rebels might be planning a chemical weapons attack in Israel from. The possible attack would be carried out from the territory supposedly controlled by the Syrian government and would trigger another round of escalation, leaving little hope of defusing the tension.

United Nations chemical weapons inspectors indirectly confirmed intelligence about the use of chemical weapons from the arsenals of the Libyan Jamahiriya, caught up in the hands of Saudi intelligence and Islamic extremists. M-14 rockets, fragments of which were discovered by international experts, long ago removed from the arsenals and destroyed by the Syrian army, but had a surplus in the arsenals of Libya.
